Mums story

Why you should never drink unfiltered or unbugged tap water
Rain falls through polluted air and sits in the catchment area. The catchment area is full of organic mater from animals and other chemicals from speed boats etc. The catchment areas can be closed for recreation due to ecoli and other outbreaks. The water is sand filtered and dosed with chlorine and comes out of the plant bacteria fee but with large dose of chlorine and the organic compounds attached to the fluoride.
However bacteria can enter the water again when it goes through our pipes especially if there are earthworks that break water and sewerage pipes at the same time. Happens quite a bit, ask a plumber. Toxic metals from our pipes can also enter the water again.
